Taylor (Alice H.) public housing development is completed.

(Aug.) Originally Mission Extension, it is located at 260 Ruggles Street. Initially intended for African-American residents, the complex includes townhouses, garden-style, mid-rise and high-rise apartments (359). Ground was broken on September 6, 1951. The development is subsequently completely renovated and renamed for a former tenant leader.
